Microsoft helps you manage your energy consumption
United States – Microsoft introduced its new service: Hohm. It is a web platform for free, which aims to help users better manage their energy consumption to reduce the amount of their bills.
Microsoft has unveiled the beta version of the platform Hohm, a service currently available only in the United States, which helps individuals and professionals to measure their energy consumption while providing advice to reduce their bills.
For this analysis, the user will meet no less than two hundred questions to get a comprehensive review of energy consumption and advice tailored to their profile.
A social network connected to this service will soon see the day so that users can communicate with each other and share their energy tips.
Microsoft hopes to compete with similar service launched by Google Powermeter, in February. Google however, was able to directly measure the energy consumption of the user through a meter installed by different suppliers of electricity. The consumption of all appliances in the home is then available directly on their computer.
The technology used by Google are of course interested Microsoft which also engaged in a partnership with suppliers of electricity and counters offer more or less identical.
