A Nokia mobile phone which does not need charger
Finland – One of the most anticipated technologies: electrical power without wires. With it, Nokia may simply forget the chargers.
Scientific experiments had been conducted in the past to light a remote bulb, but the technology remained far too difficult to implement.
Nokia has taken this challenge and for its telephones just invented a technology that recharges itself without wired connection through a single system. The device collects the radio waves, everywhere in our environment, and converts them into electricity.
There were similar systems of recovery of remote waves to create electrical energy, but those used specific waves, emitted by a dedicated case.
Here, a wide range of frequencies can be used by the technology in Nokia for supplying power to the phone. Of course, one cannot supply a bulb with the waves which surround us, but in the case of a small bit of energy to phone, this technology appears perfectly applicable.
For the moment, recovery is of 5 milliwatts but Nokia hopes to reach 20 and then 50 mW in the longer term. This energy does not provide power during a telephone communication, but can slowly recharge the battery in standby mode.
