The silver nanoparticles may prevent blood clots
Scientists from the Banaras Hindu University say they have found an alternative to aspirin and other anticoagulants used to prevent blood clots in the treatment of coronary heart disease and congestion.
Scientists led by Debabrata Dash, director of the department of biochemistry have found in laboratory tests that the use of nano silver particles seems to neutralize the coagulant properties of platelets. According to Dash, the antibacterial properties of nano silver particles were well known but their use in time Anti-coagulant is totally innovative.
Research has shown that the use of nano particles prevents the aggregation of platelets; tests on mice show that an injection of nano-particles may decrease the coagulation rate of 40% without apparent side effects.
