Methane (CH4) is a powerful greenhouse gas: the emission of one ton of methane has an effect equivalent to 21 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2).

Iran – Researchers at the University of Tehran have found a supplement coenzyme Q10 which can improve sperm quality in men of low fertility.
A sperm must travel some distance to reach the egg. For that it needs a lot of energy. When a man produces spermatozoa in small quantity that has less mobility, its fertility is compromised.

A dog, heroes of September 11, cloned after a contest

Scientists have given life to five cloned puppies. They made a copy of the genes of a German shepherd which was involved in research in the rubble of the World Trade Center.
The German shepherd had helped victims of the September 11 attacks buried under the rubble of the Twin Towers. It was dead last April, in its sixteenth year.

Microsoft: Bing does not trigger a big bang

Despite its name, Bing, the new search engine giant Microsoft, is struggling to revolutionize the world of online search.
After nearly three weeks of existence, Bing forward timidly and always pale in comparison beside the two leaders as Yahoo! and Google. According to statistics from StatCounter, the search engine of Microsoft fell 5.52% market share on 1 June in the U.S., to 6.83% on 16 June. On the same date, Yahoo! accounted for 12% market share and Google, 79%.

Taiwan – Scientists at the University National Yang-Ming discovered a gene that could hold the secret to human longevity. This discovery came during research into the identification of a gene linked to liver cancer.
The gene is called CISD2 and is located on chromosome 4. In mice deprived of this gene, signs of premature aging have been recognized as the discoloration of hair and loss of bone mass. An animal deprived of this gene is also showing signs of life expectancy decreasing by half.
